Leaving the ship, they try to explore the object, they suddenly realize it truly was alive and engulfing their ship. Karen, not able to get back to the ship in time, gets covered in the black goo and finds herself completely encased, once she wakes back up, with an unusual voice in her head… Karen was walking on the vast bridge of the ship.
