Absorption / Fusion

The process of one person absorbing or merging with another. I broaden this a bit further and also count works, that basically take two (or more) people and let them appear as one. Be that by absorbing the other person to just change a certain body part of someone, or completely merging the people into one being, with a shared / or also merged consciousness. This, of course, is a sub category of Transformation.

With the ship somewhat out of control, and far faster than what should be possible, the crew ends up right near the anomaly they initially wanted to get to. Scans showing that the completely black object was actually kind of alive, and seemed to be entirely made of rubber. Leaving the ship, they try to explore the object, they suddenly realize it truly was alive and engulfing their ship. Karen, not able to get back to the ship in time, gets covered in the black goo and finds herself completely encased, once she wakes back up, with an unusual voice in her head… Karen was walking on the vast bridge of the ship.
